While smokey weather can certainly put a damper on plans, (Albertans know full well the effects of wildfire smoke, especially this week!!), but I will say, it sure made for dreamy photos!!

This wedding was all about the details! From the center pieces to the shoes and bow ties, even the rings! Every single detail of this wedding was personalized!

I love being able to capture every minute of a wedding, from getting ready…..

…to their first look. If you hadn’t considered having a “first look” then these photos may change your mind! How amazing was this reaction?

While this day turned out perfect, and the hazy skies made for a beautiful background in their photos, not all unexpected weather works out this well!
Some tips on how to prepare for inclement weather, be it, rain, smoke, heat, or even snow!
- If it’s going to be cold – consider some shawls and blankets for your guests. Maybe a fire pit to warm up around and a signature hot chocolate drink!
- Weather forecasted for rain? no problem! Get some umbrellas for your guests! Don’t be discouraged by the rain, for your photos get some matching umbrellas and rain boots, it’ll make for the cutest wedding photos!
- Are you getting married in a heat wave? Have water bottles and mini fans for your guests, maybe consider renting a tent if your reception is outdoors!
- Smokey weather – consider having an indoor option as a backup. The smokey haze may make for nice photos but it’s not ideal to be out in for long periods of time!
Ultimately, what happens, happens and no matter what, it’ll be a day to remember. My biggest tip is to not worry and embrace anything unexpected that may happen!

I always recommend sneaking away mid-reception for some extra photos!
