Getting family photos can sometimes seem stressful, add in some kids, and if you’re really feeling adventurous – your extended family! I promise it’s not as daunting as it sounds, I love capturing extended family photos! I have some tips for preparing for your extended family session, read on below!
Come with an idea (or even a list) of the groupings of photos you’d like – everyone, individual families, kids, grandparents with grandkids, grandparents with parents, siblings, couples etc…. that’ll make it easier to organize the day of.
Clothing – you want to make sure you’re all wearing something somewhat cohesive, complementary and without any bright, clashing colours. Adding in some different colours, textures and patterns will really bring some warmth, diversity and interest to the photos. I tend to advise you avoid wearing all black or all white.
I can assure you, it’ll be so fun to get your whole family together, hang out and take beautiful photos. The more relaxed and natural you are, the better the photos will turn out! Laugh together, hug, chat, dance, whatever you want, I’ll capture those moments and I promise you’ll be left with amazing memories!
